The game is bigger, brighter has more features, yet I don't feel I'm enjoying it as much as G1 Jockey specifically race day.
I miss the list of races I'm in at the start of a day.
I miss the speed and stamina bars. They gave me a good indication of what tactics to use in a race. Now I think you have to look at a horse's preferred distances and work it out.
The "Drive". Hmmm. Yes it's more realistic, I am getting used to it, but it doesn't feel natural. It feels frustrating, and puts pressure on your control during the race instead of concentrating on tactics.
I have no feeling for the horse any more, no sense of speed. I have no feeling for the other horses around me in a drive to the line. The beauty of G1 Jockey was the simplicity of the controls but the complex and difficult nature of the tactical racing. That's what made it so addictive, week to week.
You could feel when you had plenty of horse left and carried lots of speed.
I'm liking the workouts and training, rock hard and limited.
Haven't played loads so maybe it's just because I'm in hard mode riding crap horses. There is a big challenege ahead.
Having now ridden in over 200 races, I think this game is getting better and better. In Hard Mode it sure is one of the hardest games I've played, but getting a winner is such a great feeling. Once you've come to terms with the control method and the difficulty it really is a great game.
