Bass Straight (Hooley) back as a 4yo after a maiden winner in season 3. Wasn't quite up to the best stayers last season.

Carner Bay (Munnin) targetted handicap staying events in season 3. Could measure up against the better class.

Murray (Horsie) a season 3 competitor with it s best run a 3rd in the melb cup behind What What and Bernice.

Proud Ruler & Andaad (Craig) Craig has Bernice already qualified and he saddles up these two here but once again he hasn't spruked his horses. Perhaps he is playing down his hand.

Studland Bay (Frank) Is a recent find and is the stables best chance of getting a horse through the trials. Tough staying type that keeps coming. Ran quick times in the game and is the stables best stayer produced (previous stable stayers haved won listed and hcp events in SOPL seasons 2 & 3).

Vodka Queen (Munnin) Raced well and consistently in season 3 and the stable has produced some class stayers.

Moonee Baye (Frank) Sired by Studland Bay (another entrant in this race). Has displayed plenty of class in stable trials, but can be inconsistent.

Xcellent
Stay All Day (Dave Fuller) The trainer has talked up these 2 horses. He does have comparative season 3 formlines to gauge their ability through stable trials via Lambeth Walk which ran consistently in the stayer races, so they deserve respect.

Grenada/Champaachy (James Ball) Trainer believes they may be at their best over 14f and ground alos a question for Grenada which is best on firm.

Clipperton/ Worbey Flyer (Colm) I like Colm’s confidence, he expects his horse Clipperton to qualify. I will reserve my judgement.

As for the remainder, who knows as we have nothing to go on. Obviously the quality of the Wood horses (Satellite Slack and Satellite of Love) should shine through.

I think the stayer section will be difficult to get through based on the known quality of season 3 let alone the “new blood”
