Might try doing the stayers for a bit of fun as I have been keeping a keen interest in this section as I have a few top ones going around myself.
First off we have Richard Wood who would be acknowledged as the best trainer of stayers over the three seasons, given 5 of his stable already are in the stayers champs. He has a couple engaged by the name of Satellite of Love and Satellite Slack. Havent heard anything about these two and they will be interesting runners. He knows how to breed the two mile stars. If they are anywhere near What What as far as class goes they will be right in the firing line.
Rich Wilkinson, the trainer of Century City, returns with his two stayers Carner Bay and Vodka Queen. They were useful types but failed to set the world on fire. They might struggle here.
Colm has a couple of runners going around, one of which is Clipperton which he rates highly. Just how much Colm has improved his stable is yet to be seen, but I know what is capable when the time and effort is put in. Will be an interesting runner.
Bally has Champaachy and Grenada going around. He has doubts on both of theirs two mile ability. They seem more St Leger horses than anything else.
Frank has Studland Bay and Moonee Baye going around. He rates them better than Gabor who was a useful handicapper in season 3. Reasonable formline through that and not without their chances.
Craig who trained the very handy Bernice in season 3 has two representitives in Proud Ruler and Andaad. If they are up to the class of Bernice they should acquit themselves well.
As for myself, I have two very promising horses. After the encouraging performances of my two qualifiers from season 3 in Lambeth Walk and Woodland Toliver, I knew I was only a length or two off the best of them. I have put a lot of work into my stable and have found that length or two and another three or four on top of that. They go by the name of Stay All Day and Xcellent and they will light the track up.
As for the rest of the horses, havent heard anything in the rumor mill, so apologies if I havent made mention of them. Maybe a smokey or two in there that might surprise us all. Looking forward to a very interesting contest here
My qualifying selections for what their worth.
Stay All Day,
Satellite Of Love,
Xcellent,
Satellite Slack,
Andaad,
Clipperton
May the horse be with you
