just watched a 1250 race with one of my own horses in, result not a concern but am curious as to why the horse that one the race had such a fantastic start, there is only a 9k weight difference between the otherhorse and mine and strngely the other horse has an 8m+ stride which should indicate a slower start the horse has no racing style so there is nothing to indicate why it would have such a good start, i am only interested cos i would like to emulate http://www.trackking.org/...p?c=4&t=12&r=2365

sorry forgot to mention my horse is seek mellie aurora and the other horse is vanity

To be honest, unless you can give us the stats of both your horse and the other horse, it could be difficult. Then there is always the random factor which would potentially make one horse faster than another.

Odds are, that horse has better gate speed maybe, but I couldn't say.

your jockey "fires up very late" - in my experience they are absolute rubbish out the gates, I put one on my early sprinter with 16 gate speed and he was panned out of the gate!

Which would make sense, for every good then there is usually an opposite bad thing.

fires up late would be bad, yours fires up VERY late! Great at the end of the race thugh, chuck in a couple of hold's and if you have one put him on a fast finisher or a stalker and watch it fly.

I did that once myself actually.

I put a fires up late jockey on an early sprinter thinking I was going to totally kick some arse (best of both worlds).

Boy was I wrong, the horse wobbled out of the gate and basically stubbled across the line. My trainer said something to the effect of me being a moron.

One thing I have noticed about TK - play to your current strengths don't try too hard to compensate for your current weaknesses. You just end up with a mess it takes time to correct the weaknesses.
