Re: 2727 - Equinics 3yo Prep Races - Entry Thread
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* A note:
Due to a few scheduling conflicts (I had to fire the groom who is in charge of setting my training dates - is there any good help out there?), my 3 best chances to represent in the 3YO division will all be running in 2734. Five Points will run in a 8.5F GIII at California, Creepshow will run in either the 9F Turf GI (a 500K that someone had to buy) or the 9.5F GIII, and Pay No Attention will run in the 8.5F GIII.
I knew Five Points and Creepshow couldn't run on 3 weeks rest (both ran 2706 and came back NR), but I'm pissed at myself for not setting PNA's date to 2727. I really wanted to run her longer than 8.5F.

Interesting races bought for California in 2734. The turf one was bought by Fats for his undefeated turf freak. The G3 dirt race was bought by Kingab for his dirt freak Magical Merlin.
Hmm that is tempting sending Otto Empire after Magical Merlin. But I'm not sure G3's offer enough points to take on that type of challenge.

C'mon Epic. You don't know what you've got until you throw them to the wolves. You don't seem like the type to avoid a challenge anyway. I expect to see you there in a few weeks

I just want him in the derby starting gate. If he gets there he will have his fill of challenges lol. If Kingab had bought a G1 or G2 it would of been a no brainer.
The problem is a G3 race is only 2X the stakes points, but 5X the level of competition. Recklessly entering him while puffing my chest out won't do him any good LOL!

That could be a slogan for the Lennbrenner Empire!

I disagree with that shot there Dragon-boy. I certainly enter quite recklessly, usually way over my head. My motto has always been no guts, no glory. Here and on the golf course. Probably why I'm not on tour. Anyway, the difference is that I definitely don't chirp all that much before the race, and unlike you, have yet to wet myself when I actually win something graded. You're what those with generations of wealth in their family call 'new money'.

Haha you may disagree with that shot, but I disagree with you calling it a shot. It's the truth!
I'm not saying that it's the right method or the wrong method, and obviously it's a method that has yielded 2yo performances like City Prospector who ran 71 one week and then followed that up with a G1 winning 107 (one of the fastest times ever for a 2yo in the Sim).
Perhaps you are ever so slightly changing your ways, but I don't think a leopard can completely change it's spots, and I look forward to seeing more Lennbrenner horses go from allowance company to graded competition, and more debuters running in stakes!
