I'll whip a horse like crazy in an attempt to get Monster, or if the horse is nearing the end of its career and I need one more record to get Record Breaker. Oh, how I beat the crap out of Richard Parker in an attempt to get him to beat his mom's (Round Cosmos) record in the Paris Sprint to get back to back GI wins in record time. I reloaded about 10 times before I gave up and hand rode him to the record-breaking time. I think it's great that the horses in these games have attitudes like that that aren't measured. Richard Parker was a happy boy just running his heart out (broke 9 records as a first generation original, all hand rides). His stablemate of no relation, a first generation named Double Dip, was content running a length in front of the pack all the way to the finish, but if I tapped him once in the stretch he pulled away until he ran out of steam. Double Dip made me sad, though: 14 titles, 6.5 year career, and never reached an SS rank. Retired S/SS.
