race 12 Shamrock Handicap

1        Concept        good horse but too much weight to figure here
2        Efimac        top 20 chance
3        Red Rum        too high in the weights to have a realistic chance
4        Hoopla        another with too much weight
5        Mr Happy        creeping up the weights, you get the feeling this ones chance may have gone
6        Kara Doot        gone up 10lbs for last run, but won convincingly so still in with a shout if taking to the dirt
7        Fota Island        outclassed LTO and gone up 10lbs in the handicap for his cheek, may finish last
8        Lemuria        some decent form including 5th in the Ascot Gold Cup, slipped down the weights, e/w chance
9        Blademaster        excellent 3rd LTO over todays trip, could still be ahead of the handicapper, big chance
10        Sidewinder        on a low weight and still no chance
11        Mad Bit        bold front runner who loses interest half way round and fades away
12        Gerrard        top weight, enough said
13        Homer Simpson        couple of good runs early season, could play a part in finish if taking to the surface
14        Seamus Mcfly        nice debut on unsuitable ground, trainer thinks this one has a good chance
15        Startersordersdotcom        too much weight
16        Ledger        the weight will stop this one
17        Princess        moderate form, top ten at best
18        Sacred Cycles        trip looks ideal for this one, consistant sort, one for the shortlist
19        Whak Whak        another one creeping up the weights, no chance
20        Kantikoy        still on a nice mark, trainer says horse will like surface, good e/w bet
21        Kronenburg Blanc        midfield finish for this one

        summary

The handicapper has been unkind to a few of these runners but those that catch the eye are BLADEMASTER not been out since week 9 when finishing 3rd to Double Trigger, HOMER SIMPSON some good runs early season and if taking to the dirt can figure in the finish, SEAMUS MCFLY trained by yours truly ideal distance but no real benchmark to gauge class, SACRED CYCLES genuine type sure to run a good race and KANTIKOY who finished 3 1/2 length behind Blademaster but is 6lb better off today and trainer states horse will like the dirt.

1st Kantikoy 2nd Blademaster 3rd Seamus Mcfly 4th Sacred Cycles Outsider Lemuria
