1. There are no races above 2m1f for 3yo's
2. There are races scheduled for Huntingdon & Exeter even though those tracks don't exist in game
So is this the final schedule that we are racing with or is it going to be looked at and changed?

After looking at the schedule for the NH season, i have noticed one or two things i'd like to point out
1. There are no races above 2m1f for 3yo's 2. There are races scheduled for Huntingdon & Exeter even though those tracks don't exist in game So is this the final schedule that we are racing with or is it going to be looked at and changed? |

I would say it would almost certainly be changed - as you say is no Huntingdon/Exeter in the game, also there are no bumpers and no Irish races(Can't see
Paul allowing that!

Huntindon and Exeter have been removed. Bumpers included. It is being reworked. There are Irish races. Look closer. Punchestown has an entire week infact. As
for no 3yo races above 2m1f I have based all the races off real races extracted from the sportinglife website. I have taken the distances they are in real
life. If none of them came up over 2m1f then that is likely going to stay the same. All of the feature races for 3yo's are 2m/2m1f so it makes sense to
keep all 3yo races in this distance range

Nice one Dave, I was looking at the old schedule spreadsheets posted in the other thread, have looked on TOM now, looks great, however I can see there are a
number of 4yo hurdles. Will the CK allow this as the game and CK do not currently allow this?

In the league will TOM be able to apply the normal rules for national hunt, like that national hunt flat races are only open to horses that have never run in a
hurdle or chase race ?
And novice chases are only open to novices, tho this wont be a problem in the first season.
I hope the national flat races are kept separate, then you can campaign a horse in national hunt flat races for a whole season with the hope that it might win the champion bumper. |

Jay, even if TOM cant do this surely we could set out the rules for these races(4YO hurdles and Bumpers) before the start of the season and any entries not
satisfying the criteria could be manually scratched what do you think?

Wasnt aware of the technicalities regarding NHF races. I know in SO3 you can run in a hurdle then back to NHF so I just assumed both where pretty much open to
each other. A rule can be built in regarding this. Novices will be something to address next season but the retention of horses in SO from one season to
another is around 10-15% so is there really a need for novices given that 85-90% of horses will be new each season if previous seasons of SO1/2 leagues are
anything to go by

Not sure on which way to go, obviously we should keep it as realistic as we can but if that makes it too complicated then it might not be worth worrying about.
Basic rules: juveniles=3yo NH flat/bumpers= 4yo+ that have never run in any other form(apart from nh flat), this includes flat racing. novice hurdle/chase=4yo & 5yo + that have not won a race apart from a nh flat in the past seasons (open to restrictions if the race specifies) It might be worth adding some veteran races that are open to certain age group, ie above the age of 9. At the moment i have found that jumps horses are pretty shite after the age 8. |

I agree JV especially on the novice races being open to only 4/5 Year olds, I believe this would help keep the league realistic. With novice races being such
an integral part of Jumps racing in real life the risk is that they become devalued in the SOPL due to, as DU pointed out, the high horse turnover from season
to season in the SOPL.

Have to disagree. Got a 10 year old who won the last 2 Grand nationals by a distance on both occasions in course record times. Runs away from the field in my trials as well |

Veteran races are a good idea...tho the optimum age for National horses is 8yo..lots of older horses have won and been placed in them
so a few races at the smaller meetings might be a positive idea..tho' i would go with the flow on this one Thnx for clarifying the guidelines JV Paul |
