Hadn't played that much anyway, but it could wipe out somebody's top game if you don't backup regularly.

A random crash bug while saving has just reduced me to a re-start.

Weird. I had done 7 seasons. Just about to start Season 8. Named all my horses went to save.
The game crashed and now I have to restart. So aswell as saving all the time it is best to back up your saved game. |

I concur completely as Dave has suggested saving every 30 mins or so
so if u do lose any horses its kept to a minimum guess one of those chores to do until the patch comes alive |

I have an external hard disk drive. I will be copying my saved game after every season to this from now on.

Also meant to add that I had played a few seasons on normal level and a few seasons on hard level. See no difference in horses.

Colm, the game files zip to about 15mb. You could store 60 seasons on 1gb zipping. No need for an external hard drive

Screen Resolution Problem | ||
|
I posted this problem on the Starters Orders Forum, but just in case anyone missed it, I thought I would post it here.
For the last 2 days now, I have tried to load the game from the desktop and all that comes up is a dialog box with the following message: Blitz3D Runtime Error Could not set video mode! Your system must support 1024x768x32 screen resolution I tried uninstalling then re-installing and still the same problem. There was a thought that it was the Patch v1.003 but the game was working fine after that installation and then out of nowhere this come up. Anyone who has had a similar issue, or even better, a solution, it would be greatly appreciated! |

In the U.S. game, There is also a problem with the diary notes after I installed the latest patch. The notes appear next to the wrong horse unless they are
created on the declaration screen. Also, the box on the main screen that allows you to check the conditions for turf and dirt races at the same track (in the
area where the feature races for the day are shown) does not work. When you click it, the option freezes.
Would it also be possible to extend the racing season from January 1 - December 31 (not end on 11/11) and extend the number of feature races to 600 (currently 400 by my count)? This would allow the creation of a schedule for all graded U.S. races. Thanks. |

Lefty, their isnt the necessary horse pool to support 600 features. Would have to double the total horse pool to accommodate that

Mark, I've downloaded the 1.01 patch and there are a few issues with the U.S. game:
1. On the horse data screen, form summary section, not all of the race type filters are working. 2. On the main screen (and the declaration screen), the diary notes are not sorting with the horses (i.e. when a new horse is added and you sort by age, all of the horses move but the notes stay behind). 3. On the course display details, with the default showing turf details, you click the box that says "display dirt course details" and they switch to the dirt details but when you click it again to switch back to the turf details, it doesn't change back. There are some "like to haves" also: 1. Eliminate the generic, non-showcase graded/group races. With modified showcases, they serve no purpose. Change to allowance races if you like. 2. Can the dirt/turf preference comments be moved from the lead lad comments on the training screen to the horse data screen? With automatic training, there is no need to even look at the training screen. 3. Can the horse's grade designation be shown in the "current declaration" screen as in SO2? When you have to click on each competitor to see the showcases they have won, it takes up time. 4. Is there a way to limit the size of the racing fields for feature events (something like the "X" for large fields but in reverse)? Most US races rarely have more than 10-15 runners and some field sizes are actually restricted (i.e. Derby-19, Breeders Cup-14). In addition, US races rarely have top weights beyond the low 130s. 5. Is there a way to show both turf and dirt conditions on the declaration screen before race day? Thanks again for a great game and giving us a forum to provide some feedback. |

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Both issues are with the US game.
Can you tell me which filters do not work? I just had a look and they seem ok. It's the "featured race" under the race type filter. When you click it, the races go blank. Could this be because of a modified showcase file? Also the 'display dirt course details' problem does not show up here. Initially, when you click the "display dirt course details", it displays the details and the text changes to "display turf course details". When you click it the second time to go to the turf details, it doesn't change back. Thanks again. |
