I've been testing it for about 2 weeks and I reckon it is a great product. Jumps is brilliant. Graphics will cop some stick but after a while they do
actually look better than SO2. Just takes a while to adjust to them. Only thing I am critical of is lack of jockey colors. I would love to see a league where
you have 60+ trainers all with their own unique colors. Would really liven up the races. This is probably the most notable step back as there were 16 colors in
the old game but only 10 in this one. Unfortunately though it was out of Mark's hands as the graphic people were late in delivering their product.

Yeah the gfx we will get used to.
I agree Dave about colours something I wanted to see. 60 odds trainers with their own silks. Would be fantastic. Not sure if you have asked Mark but can more be added maybe with some tweaks? Another thing was DATA. Not a massive issue. I will update this myself but nothing has changed at all with DATA. New/Old jockeys and trainers have been added. Like I say I am currently updating this at the moment. Not played it much yet as I am getting DATA and portraits updated. As you all know I am a perfectionist.
Reading alot of stick on the other forums though. I want to gdet my game started for the league but dont know where to start yet. EASY/NORMAL/HARD AUTO/MANUAL FLAT OR FLAT/NH There is alot of things to think about. |

My biggest problem is lack of a licence after more than 24 hours waiting - DU, you've not asked Mark not to give me one have you ? :-)
Have run the demo and I hate the graphics to be honest. Might get used to them but right now I'm not sure. Agree with DU on the jockey colours also. If anything the jockeys are better - it's just the horse graphics I have a problem with, so it would be nice to have some way of customizing your own colours. Apart from that it's nice to have the jumps and the rest seems much the same. Now if I can just get a licence.... |

normally like u Padraig i have to wait forever for the licence but this time got mine within mins..
im really enjoying the jumps part of the game but having to have flat horses for 3/4 of the season aint my idea of fun once April 6th is over the next jump race aint til late Oct/Nov awful long time for me... hoping sometime we can add a summer season of jumping and have jumps all the year round personally for me if i never see another flat race it wont bother me in the slightest Paul |

Paul,
Why dont you modify the jumps schedule to year round jump racing |

Any chance you could modify the excel spreadsheet Dave, so that it'll work perfectly with SO3. I've noticed some of the races you can edit on the new
showcase, but there's a couple I want to throw off it that doesn't seem to be allowing me to.

At first i didnt like the new race graphics but after while i got used to them, the flat races look better & feel more realistic. The jumping side i dont
like the way the horses bunny hop the fences, i would prefer to see them brush through the top of the fences/hurdles.
It would be handy if we could skip to a certain date in the game, so then we could miss the flat season out.

DU - Forum should pick up with a great title race, the breeders, SOPL and Loveday cups to come and lots still to play for champion novice, top 5 top 10 etc. I hope so anyway! JV - whilst not ideal what I have been doing is entering a jumps horse in a flat race the furthest possible date in the future, handicap/claimer/seller whatever for £50 then using the skip next button takes U to the day before race - then withdraw the horse(remove from race) and repeat 4/5 times - your at the end of October, like I say not ideal but much quicker than skipping day after day. Am now starting to enjoy my game 5/6 seasons in have started breeding my own - my line starts with a great gamebred sprinter I picked up at auction - managed to win the Nunthorpe by 4 1/2 lengths and the kings stand at 5yo under G1 penalty - bred it with CPU miler and resulting Colt flew from miles behind to win Golden Slipper by a length! Also had my first jumps G1 winner in the Powers Gold cup, a real 2m4 specialist, annoying though that seems to be the only race for her(No Ryanair chase??). Game seems to be getting a real kicking on this and the other forums but have to say despite some obvious glitches that are sure to be ironed out with patches I am starting to get into it. The graphics are much better once your used to them(could do with horses having eyes though!) and the training is a huge step up on So2 - id be worried about the league if using automatic training! - you can manipulate a lot more about horses stats through training(especially jumpers - said jumps winner almost never makes a mistake now thanks to intensive jumping training) than previously. Overrall I would say give the game time and it will become clear that it is clearly superior to SO2.
