I know we pay entry fees but the amounts are chicken feed. I would like to see realistic entry fees. This way we would get top class group ones. A trainer would think carfeully before just entering a horse into listed or group races. Something else is travelling fees. We should pay small amounts for trips to Newmarket, Ascot depending on where in the country our stable is based. But for the Breeders Cup we should pay expensive entry fees and travelling fees. It could have its downside though. We may get small fields. I am looking forward to the races that will be in both calenders. What I dont want to see is a horse finishing last in banded races running in a group one in America. Maybe I am asking to much or being strict. Another way to do it is invatation only. Just a suggestion. Let me know what you think either way. Cheers Jason

You wont see lesser UK horses heading to the US for the Arlington Millions or Breeders Cup and vice versa. Lesser US horses wont run in the Derby or Ascot, and so forth. Entry fees was something, I had been thinking about. More to do with this idea before anything changes. Travelling fees is a very interesting suggestion. Thanks - Keep em coming!!

Cheers Jason Well you beat me to this one! I was just driving home and thinking about this very same thing. I too think there should be realistic traveling fees across the pond to both sides and of course even more to races such as the Dubai races and the Melbourne Cup. It just adds to the significance of competing in such international events.

Writers could even write about which horses were coming closer to qualifying for certain international races as well. That would hype up the anticipation ever more and make getting one of those invitations, even more gratifying for those trainers. The Dubai races might be a bit tougher though. The SOPL Int, the USRA and the UKRA Presidents should be able to come up with something that will make sense for everyone on the Dubai races.

Every race has its own individuality such as being able to set field sizes, total noms per trainer, nom fee etc.
