I've hit the wall guys. Because of financial pressures my work load is just too great to continue for the next four weeks doing all of this manually. I
am starting a new business, expanding my existing one and I have a daughter getting married in May.
I need to cancel the four weeks of GPL Championships, but I will offer you something in exchange for having to do that which I will state in a moment.
If you have been following the GPL moving to TOM thread, you know that DodgyDave and I have done quite a bit already on creating GPL season operations in the Trainers Office Manager. The set up will be similar to what the SOPL has enjoyed for many seasons now. As soon as it is complete, you all can start beta testing it to make sure everything is fully operational. Once the test is over we could begin the next season right away.
Now what I wanted to offer you in exchange for not having the GPL Championships at this time is you all could compete in the next season with your best dogs from this season AT THEIR SAME AGE. You have been real troopers during this tumultuous season and have helped me learn alot that we are now able to craft the league's operations on, in TOM. I think that it would be a nice treat for all of you to see your best dogs from this season perform in a very workable environment finally, in the next season. Even though it was season one, it could be considered the working season to prepare for the GPL final residence in the Trainers Office Manager.
You will also be able to keep all of your earnings. We will also enter all of the statistics for season 1, into TOM manually which will include All Time Records andTop Dog Times. That way we will have track times standards for all of our dogs to gauge our progress on and to help decide which races would be best for our dogs.
Dave is also programming some logic into the Race Nomination section so that TOM hopefully, will be able to determine the top 6 dogs nominated for each distance. We are shooting for TOM to be able to sort out which are the 6 best based on track record and track times for that distance. Once the first 6 are set, that race will be closed and TOM could then sort out which are the next 6 best dogs for that distance of races. So stats attached to the dogs will become very important to race nominations.
