I am quite shocked that B O A didn't win his heat in the derby this week!! If only my dog didn't get all that problem in the heat. Would have won it if
got a clear run
Im looking forward to the 875m in week 7. There are going to be quite a few dogs out there wanting to take it to stop that Le Belle winning
Ringo will be going for it and so will as one of my new ones "Lassies Girl" Its going to be quite interesting for week 6 seeing all these new dogs come in and with the new trainer making a name for them selfs already! Well done to you for a great start by the way. I am shocked that Ringo didn't make it out this week. He has yet to get his clear run and show what he can really do. Maybe next week will be his week!
I got rid of most of my kennel in the change over and brought in what I hope to be a better kennel then before. (not as meny last places, more wins) I know I got my bets for week 6 so better go and do them LOL |

The Cougar Estates Kennels did fairly well this week. I was torn between pulling Evelyn One from the 525m Quicksilver Trophy
and enter her into the 475m ORLWorld Derby this week. I thought she was a shoo in for 2nd place in the Quicksilver Trophy which is why my bet
was for her to finish second. I thought however, that she might be able to nose ahead of John Smart's fantastic Above
Water, but I couldn't be sure. In the end I watched a nail biting, voice harsh from yelling performance by both of them that was one of the best
races I have seen in the GPL so far. SHE LOST BY A FRICKIN' NOSE!!! They both broke the record by .06 seconds but unfortunately for Evelyn One, only
Above Water's name will be on that new record. I had been bragging about Evelyn One ever since she had over $350k in record breaking career earnings in my
single player game, but she was somewhat of a disappointment to me when she first hit the GPL tracks. Only in the last 3 weeks of racing has she shown the
speed that I had always known her to have. I still think she would have had a great chance in the ORLWorld Derby, but I am not sorry that I got to watch her
perform so valiantly in the Quicksilver Trophy though! What a race! Congratulations to John Smart on a fantastic victory!
I couldn't wait to see Evelyn Desert (from both the worthy Evelyn One and Desert Nat bloodlines) and Leonica Desert Nat (from both the worthy Leonica Habischessff and also the Desert Nat bloodlines) perform in the 650m Rutherford Life Cup race. They both shattered the record by .20 seconds. They both are very good in the 625m and the 675m races as well. Both who are currently running as 3yos in my single player game are even faster now. Evelyn Desert just clocked a whopping 41.11 at 675m! And at her current age of a 2yo in the GPL, her 625m record time in my single player game is 37.30. Desert Nat Quainted II who is 5/5 and the current record holder in the GPL at the 625m never beat Evelyn Desert once in the six Swap Week Trials races that they were both in! She couldn't beat Leonica Desert Nat either. So obviously I have high hopes for both of them in the 650m Decker Stayers Trophy next week. I was a bit disappointed in Black La Belle Simone's performance in the 875m Chesterfield Endurance against Black Front this week. She gave La Belle Simone fits in the Swap Week Trials. I honestly thought and still do think that she can take Black Front. They will be both competing in the 875m Desani Waters Trophy next week so we may see that confrontation again. It will be interesting to see who the Race Construction Kit will favor in that final if both Black Front and La Belle Simone experience no tragedies and are in that race. If Black La Belle Simone is there as well, she could end up being the Joker in the race for at least one of them if not both. Finally, I have some sprinters that win 275m races! Okay, Invisible Woman's 16.39 was close, but not a record breaking time and Lillian Violette's was much slower, but my kennels still has a chance to win at that distance now and again. Strange though. Invisible Woman had already raced 5 times in the GPL and never showed that kind of speed. Hopefully like Evelyn One, her performances have now turned and she will be a contender. In the 475m Goodwin Tires Hurdles Ross Geller Acquainted put on a burst of speed after the final hurdle that I have never seen in a Greyhound Manager race before. His time wasn't all that hot, but it does makes me wonder what his time could have been if he hadn't gotten so tripped up on the hurdles in that race. I will definately keep him in mind for the hurdles from now on for sure. I think I will put him in the 450 hurdles as well. Leonica who had been performing in hurdles races up until now shows great promise in the 475m ORLWorld Derby. Shayne Hannaford's Ebony Park Lass smashed the 475m record and Divine2k2k's Barnfield on Air also bested it and Leonica was very close to the record. I believe she has a very good chance of at least finishing in the top three positions in the Finals next week. Well, thats it for now. I gotta get back to work. Good luck everyone in Week 7!

What I like about being in this racing league is that everyone has there day, sure the big dogs (record holders) get up most the time but they also have there
bad days.
Everyone gets there chance at getting some winners. I havent played the game for over a month so I better put some time in and breed some more champs. My newsters to the league all failed in there attempts last week, even though they hold game records which are faster or as fast as the league records. This week will see more records lowered, as I have high hopes for a few of mine. |

Cougar Estates Week 7 Report | ||

This is going to be another crazy weekend for me so I am going to get this in right now.
Habischessff won the 375m Crystal Bowl which I was pretty pleased about. Habischessff is the grand sire of Leonica Habischessff and the great grand sire of my new 625-675m sensation Leonica Desert Nat. He probably won't win many races this season, but I will still get a kick out of seeing one of my original game dogs competing in the GPL's Inaugural season. BTW I am going to name all of the races for the rest of the season and use these same names for races a the respective tracks in GPL II. A few of these (if we have moved into TOM by then so that we could handle 34 - 40 races a week) Trial races might even get upgraded to Graded or Feature races by then. I was in alot of dismay when I ran these races because I had a dog by the name of Uppity Glencroft entered into my kennels during the Swap Week, but somehow I never actually physically moved him over! I thought that it would be okay to move him over since that had been my intention all along, but discovered that I already had the 45 dog limit! I didn't feel it was ethical at that point to remove one just so I could put Glencroft in the 375m Highlander Stakes race. So Glencroft may never see a GPL track which is a bummer because he was my best of the 3 that I had trialed at the 375m distance. I replaced him with my 3rd best dog by the name of Amazakove a 2yo dog. He did fairly well in his first race. I was actually hoping beyond belief that he would nose out the great Little Champion from Slim Kennels' kennels, but he instead lost by a nose. Not bad, not bad. I can only wonder how Glencroft would have performed in that same race. Uppity Alien Beings and Ross is Lucky did not take home any money in the 450m BMG Stakes and the 450m Corelleon Stakes as they both finished in fourth place. John Smart's Crosshill Gail and Crosshill Flyer cleaned up both of those races. Hopefully, they will do better at this distance in Nottingham next week. Habitonia Glencroft faired better in the 450m Silverstorm Cup with a second place finish, behind another one of John Smart's blazing sprinters named Crosshill Eagle. I am curious as to what the name Crosshill stands for. Must ask him sometime. Leonica Habischessff won the 450m Stadlers Gold Collar which pleased me very much. He is going to have to take on some of Crosshill dogs soon at this distance. I am very interested as to how he will fair against them ESPECIALLY since Crosshill Flyer beat his 450m record with an amazing 27.09 time and there's Crosshill Eagle not that far behind with a 27.17 time to his credit now as well. Well, I remember in the Exhibition season, had gotten beaten by a dog who broke the record I believe, to beat Leonica Habischessff. In the GPL450m Championship race, Leonica Habischessff came back to both beat that dog and win the race in another record breaking time. So even though these Crosshill dogs' times are simply amazing it will be interesting to see what happens when they are all on the same track together with mine. Maybe the GPL 450 Champion races? Fantastic Four got a 3rd place in the 475m Honda Hurdles and I will have to be satisfied with that. Now the one that was very painful to watch was Ross Geller Acquainted in the 475m Isuzu Hurdles. I was biting my nails as he jumped over each hurdle. He was doing very good around the track and I started having some hope. Coming off the third turn he was actually pulling away from the crowd and I started to smile. Then disaster struck! He fell on the last hurdle and SHannaford's Ambrosia Flyer and R Wakeling's Puss Inboots caught and passed him! Last week and now this! I uttered a few choice words for that race! LEONICA WON THE DERBY! LEONICA WON THE DERBY!! I didn't expect that at all! Divine2k2k's Barnfield on Air and Boherina on Air, plus Ebony Park Lass, I thought all broke well along with Leonica. Then Boherina on Air got checked and fell back to the position where Barnfield on Air had decided to settle down in. Then in the last 50m they both came on strong, but could only finish in 3rd and 4th places. And Ebony Park Lass just faded for no reason that I could see! The one who hung in there all the way though, was R Wakeling's Danzig Star who finished in 2nd. My Uppity Ross Geller who I am proud that he made it to the finals, got impeded at the 425m mark and just did not have the strength to hold with the front runners. I was shocked at Evelyn One's performance in the 525m Trader Joe's Vase. If this was a real world race, I would have sworn that he just did not feel like racing today. He missed the break horribly and just never seemed to recover from that mishap. Hopefully he will be back to form in Nottingham next week. I thought for sure that Stardust Memories would win the 525m Sparkletts Stakes, but she just got out muscled by Divine2k2k's Cheif on Air down the home stretch. Even though he was beaten by John Smart's Above Water by 1 length in the 525m Marlon Doors Cup, I was still pleased to see Desert Quainted Habit finish 2nd his first GPL race. I was surprised that Captain America got eliminated in the 650m Decker Stayers Trophy Semi-Finals as he is a pretty strong dog at that distance. I wasn't surprised that Desert Nat Two qualified for the finals next week though. And I was not surprised, but still very pleased to see Evelyn Desert and Leonica Desert Nat win both of the Semi-Finals. I also think that Evelyn Desert now has the 650m record all to herself. It was 39.57 and she got a 39.50. Leonica Desert Nat however, lower his to 39.53. My problem now is which one do I bet the farm on, to win? Well, well, well. It looks like we are going to have another showdown between La Belle Simone, Black Front and Babyalah's Ringo in the 875m Desani Waters Trophy finals! I got a front row seat already! Black Front seemed to try to make a statement by lowering his best time to 53.17. If all three are at their form and with no mishaps, it might just take a new record for one of these three to win. Well, I am sure you know who I will be betting on! Well, thats it. I am outta here!
