I really like training young horses and campaign them over a entire season over chase races, i usually go for the horses with potentially good jumping &
agility but I cant stop them from falling & usually at the first fence
I have even tried schooling them at home loads of times but still they fall, i find a 2mile novice chase at aintree a very painful experience.....
Another thing I find when a buy a game horse who has just performed brilliantly in a chase race, when i look at his training potential the horse has average jumping ability and usually falls for me next time out.
Just a few questions;
How are other people getting on with their young chasers ??
Has anyone had a horse with very good or better in jumping potential, as if we have very poor we must have very good, surely ??
Any tips ???
Or am I just a carp trainer.
Cheers.
