The benefit would be that the league horse files would only have to be set up one time instead of twice.

I don't want to cause anyone any difficulties here. I wanted to float the idea to get a reaction. As there are at least 2 stables who would have difficulty, we can leave it as is.

I would like to get away from any midseason updates for season 4, though. It would certainly save us the extra effort of adding in all those horses AND resetting the league save game...

I was seriously planning on the update, and a lack of update will upset my plans.....Not trying to be a pain, but if i had known a month ago i'd be differently prepared.

The only problem with multiple entries is if the field fills, then someone's horse is going to get stuck with the dreaded PP1. I would hate to be that stable just because someone else was able to enter 2 horses into a G1 race.

Having said that, I must also say that we haven't had any problem allowing multiple entries in the Triple Crown races, though. Maybe we play that one by ear and see how many stables ACTUALLY are going to be in.

I think we should wait and see...

I would also like to add that if we decide on a 25 horse roster that we should get more than 10 entries a week. I would also like to be able to enter more than 1 horse in some of the G1's in cases where the fields are not full. This shouldn't be a problem seeing as how we're probably going to have fewer people playing this time around.

You bring up an excellent point. I agree that a 25 horse roster is a good compromise.

If some other owners would post their opinions on this matter, we could wrap this issue up quickly.

25 horse roster, no mid-season update. What do you all think?

I understand the reasoning for this but it really hurts me because I'll have 2yo's sitting around for five or six weeks when I could have a few more three year olds to look at. This also hurts in terms of strategy because I planned on replacing my early year peakers with some of my later in the year peakers. Hence, replacing my 5yo's with my 4yo's and 3yo's with 2yo's.

I think a good compromise to this would be to expand rosters to 25 horses and that'll...

I would like the active stable owners for the League Of Champions to consider a change in the way we handle this league for this coming season.

The change I would like you to consider is the elimination of the mid-season roster update.

While the mid-season roster update may have been necessary in the first season to help newer stables be more competetive, I feel that it is no longer necessary for the good of the league.
