4 Tracks
12 Standard Distance Dogs, 6 Sprinters, 6 Stayers (24)
Feature Race meeting every 4th week (6 heats winner proceed to final the next week on a standard card). That means every 4th week we would 4 distances (1 sprint, 1 standard, 1 stayer, 1 hurdle) with 6 heats each which would equal 24 races which Jim said he could handle. The finals would be run on a standard card a week later.
Limit three races per distance (except features)...

The limit will need to be 45 until we get into TOM. That is because 45 show up on one screen capture and I really don't want to spend time screen capturing more than one screen for each kennels. I believe there is only one kennels now that has more than one trainer name which of course requires their own screen for their roster. Hopefully, that will not become a situation in the future.

Sounds ok with me. I will start work on a new data system, where I can record a dogs fastest time over course and distance for the tracks what you have suggested. So they will be Notts, Don, Romford, Reading in the league and Sheffield for the championships.
I'm glad that you could see what I was trying to say.
On other note regaurding the limit of the kennel size, I feel that a trainer can have as many dogs as they like. This is where the trainers management of their kennel...

Okay, reducing the number of tracks in the GPL now makes more sense. Having dogs compete at qualifying distances for Feature races on just 4 tracks instead of the 20 there are on the schedule now would ease the burden on the staff in that respect. So at the beginning of the Exhibition and the Inaugural season we had two weeks of just Trial races before the Feature races were introduced. We utilized 4 tracks in those two weeks of Trials. I propose that the league only races once every two weeks. This way we have alot more time in order to do what needs to be done. So for Jim that means he could do the races over a few days instead of all at once, rushing against time. Ok it would mean the league would take longer, but it would also mean the league would run more smoothly. So how ever many races there is, there is more time to run them.

Keeping the various stats is not something that I am involved in so changes that would reduce the number of stats (limiting the number of dogs in a kennels or limiting the number of tracks in the GPL) would not affect the amount of time I have to spend running the league. Limiting the number of nominations would though. I too would not like it to be one dog per distance. That would be too drastic and would reduce both the excitement and interest in competing in the league. I have reduced...

one dog per distance, would not be worth joining the league. Personnally I don't mind keeping stats on how ever many dogs there are. This season alone i have got records for over 400 dogs (finish positions and times) So that is not a problem.
Maybe limiting nominations to 2 dogs per distance (with preference given to the fastest) on normal races, and 4 for features. That way the normal races have more of a chance of actually running a full field.

im trying to cut back on all time, limited kennel spaces would save time in keeping stats etc, all of us dont need as many dogs as we have. even limit it to 1 dog per distance.....would cut the races right back

make it even easier. Only 2 tracks to run every week. have a quick poll to find out the 2 or a vote or draw 2 out of a hat (something like that) Only run features every 4 weeks, but in that week NO normal races. Seems pointless to limit the amount of dogs allowed in kennel, if limiting the amount of entries allowed over any one distance. Will have a further think about it, and let you know what I come up with.

THERES ABOUT 30 TRACKS IN GAME DO WE NEED THEM ALL HERE? WOULD BE A HEADACHE FOR KEEPING STATS IN ORDER?(ALL DISTANCES). HAVING 4 TRACKS A MONTH IS AMPLE FOR A GPL LEAGUE. WE DONT HAVE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING!!!! HOW BOUT CUTTING THE AMOUNT OF DOGS IN EACH KENNELS TO SAY AROUND 20 OR 25......LIMIT ENTRYS PER DISTANCE TO 2 AND LIMIT A TOTAL OF 24 RACES, DONT BE TEMPTED TO GO OVER 24...THAT SHOULD BE THE CUT OFF, HOLD A FEATURE EVERY FORTNIGHT....

Something has to be done right away in regards to the amount of time that I put in on the Draw, running the races, screen capturing them, screen capturing the kennels rosters and finally posting them two separate times. 24 races which I said I could do okay, turned into 33 this week. I have spent an incredible 20 hours this week on this which was way, way too much. And I still have to screen capture the trainers' kennels rosters and post the week 9 submission thread.
