PS3 arrived today! It came with Motorstorm which is fun, and we're hoping to get a hdmi cable this weekend.

I thought the extra $100 was worth it for what you get. And if a PS2 dies it won't matter because I can play the old games on the new PS3. Mak said since they dropped the price on PS3 that Sony was only making the 40g now.

Well it looks like BluRay DVDs have triumphed over HD DVDs so another reason to get a PS3 instead of an XBox360.

For anyone wanting an 80gig Playstation, they are hard to find. I just ordered one at http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2822005

Edit to add, PS3 80g is apparently backward compatible where 40g looks like it isn't.

oh yes i agree also with the visuals of 300 on bluray. It was the first movie I got one Blueray and have since got all the pirates of the Caribbean movies. I'm not sure if it's just how they decided to film/edit the 3rd movie, but a lot of the scenes seemed way over saturated to me.

I also have an HD DVD player, I don't think there's any difference between blueray and HD DVD. I really enjoyed Tranformers in HD.

I currently own and really like the following :

Elder Scrolls : Oblivion
Resistance : Fall Of Man
NCAA Football 08
Call Of Duty 3

I am eagerly awaiting the following :

Gran Turismo 5
Next version of Gallop Racer (I guess I'll be eagerly awaiting this title for a while.)

I have 1 BlueRay movie so far (300) and the visuals were quite impressive.

Don't have this yet, but would probably get it over the Xbox if I were in your shoes. I've heard very good things about it, especially from people with broken Xboxes that went and bought PS3 after.

Call Of Duty 4 is by far the best PS3 game i have played yet.

Fifa 08 is really good too if you're a soccer fan, but EA Sports could've done a better job on that game.

I was a bit dissapointed with EA's NHL 08 and quickly returned it to the store after buying it.

If you're a fan of Rpg's then you've got to play Folklore, absolutely incredible graphics, maybe the best looking game i've played yet on an HDTV.
