Jim, you should definately take the promotion. The prize money is better, and so is the prestige.

As for moving, it appears that you are already competetive (winning Class 4 at your track) and your desire to race in SoCal seems to be an important factor. I think you should stay.

I also think you should host a massive stakes race and invite all of us!

I don't know if multiple stables...

Decisions, decisions. I just discovered that I have more money that I had previously thought. I was awared 800k last week which the majority of that was the prize money for winning the division. So I am alot better off than I had previously thought. Emotionally though, I would rather near a Southern California race track so I might look into them.

BTW can we eventually have more than 1 stables? In other words could I have one in So Cal and another one in possibly Africa?

Is relocating not an option?
I barely had just over 500k myself when I promoted and moved to another country and stable, but even with the rehiring costs it didn't break the budget too much.
It helped that I had a Cup runner come second last night, but I am now back to close to where I began. Even if you decide not to promote, if you move to a country with little or no human owners you could make a packet. Although Class 3 winnings are a lot more than class 4.

Okay, I won the Class 4 division at my track this season and it is now offering me to move up to Class 3 competition. To be honest I am hesitant to to do that just yet. I only have 400k in the bank and am concerned that I might not earn as much each week with the obviously stiffer competition that I will have in the Class 3 division. I feel that I should probably stay where I am and work on my 2yo colt and 2yo filly to see if I can train them to be very competitive. I have a 7 yo mare...

I'll still be looking at the stakes schedule at Arlington and sending horses north to compete. I've completed my move (Magellan Strait) and have rehired all my trainers, vets and admin assistants back.

I'm looking forward to next season.

Yup, probably. However, in my case, I would do it the same way again. If all the 4th level stables promoted I might find myself having to locate someone wanting to move. Instead I slid into a bot position hehe.

In my case I promoted from 4th level to 3rd. The stable I moved to was full of TK players at level 4. I'm assuming 15 of those will promote and become my competition. I'll check my training when TK will let me in. I can't remember, but I think I lost today's training. However, 3rd level has training on Monday so I just set that up.

Edit: I lost my training for today, but with the promotion I have training on Monday.

Ok. I've done some research into the "Help" files and some snooping around with the links to move and promote. I've been able to formalize my plan.

1 - Allow the training scheduled for Classes 4-6 to finish. This training is scheduled for today at 8:00 PM game time. Wait until tomorrow morning to move to step 2.

2 - Since the "Promote/Move" screen states that you must promote BEFORE you move, accept the promotion to Class 3.

I moved to another American track, East Coast Sands. Rehired admin, trainers, and vets. Stalls were done automatically. I have one horse racing today at the old track, he will automatically get shipped to the new track after his race. Good luck to everyone in the new season!

Thanks Beau, I was rather surprised I jumped up 4 places.

Africa eh? Maybe I'll pack my bags and head in that direction instead... I might just move to a different track in Australia though, my horses are liking the weather.

I bet russia is pretty quiet, wait there is horse racing in Russia.. right? I'm going to check around and see the potential places I could move to.

I came in 2nd in my league, I jumped from 6th to 2nd with a win and a place.

If you're having a tough time placing well in races due to better horses from more established stables, there is something you can do about it.

We will all be afforded the choice of moving our operations to a different location. Take this "golden opportunity" to move to a track that has mostly 'bot stables. Some of those established stables that seem to have endless money and great horses got that way because they were competing against 'bot stables early...
