The Undercard

Race 1 may only be a Mares race but it attracts a great field including WA's best mare Sovereign Beejay;

Race 2 & 4 are heats to the M0 Champion of Champions Series. Race 3 is a nice 9 horse M1 to M2.

Race 5 happens to be the WA Derby Consolation for horses Balloted out of the $150,000 Group 1 Classic. Field isn't too shabby but no stand out selection.

The harness racing industry is in shock. Elsu, last season's Harness Horse Of The Year, was retired during the weekend after pulling up lame during a workout at his home in Patumahoe.

His trainer Geoff Small revealed the truth about Elsu's soundness issues in a newspaper article on the weekend. I know most of you like horse racing but i would like to see more people in harness racing. I will be updating the latest news in the harness racing world(mostly australia and NZ)
